Process
Reclaim your Smagik
This process isn’t about learning something new—it’s about remembering what you already know. Creativity is your natural state, buried under layers of noise and the illusion that answers lie outside of you. But the clarity, calmness, and the energy of flow are within you, just waiting to be rediscovered. The best part? This energy is infinite—your birthright as a human being. You’ve felt it before. You just have to get back there.
Break Free
Every notification and AI-generated suggestion is designed to hijack your attention—the most valuable currency you have. Reclaim it. Put down the phone, step away from the feeds, turn off notifications, and create space for your own thoughts to breathe. It's not easy but it’s possible. Guard your attention like it's gold.
Play
Play isn’t frivolous—it’s essential. Capitalism tells us every action must be productive, but research shows that play helps us to cope with life, reduce stress, and reconnect with joy. So get out the paints, dancing shoes, gardening tools, or scribble nonsense stories. Let yourself disappear into an activity simply because it feels good.
Make a Mess
AI and social media have in a short order created a homogenous sea of sameness which then tricks us into believing that their flattened version is the goal. But human creativity thrives in the raw, unrefined mess- rough drafts, off-key singing, and imperfect sketches. Your creativity needs to be felt. Creativity is not logical; A does not lead to B and then C, but more often takes a sharp left turn and then a zigzag until the solution suddenly appears out of nowhere because you’ve given it the space to do so. Let go of the pressure to make something "good" and focus on making something true. The more you honor your instincts, the stronger your creative voice becomes. It takes practice. This is how you return to yourself. Not by following a trend, but by remembering what it feels like to create—just because you want to. Do it for you!
Creative Resistance
Creativity is not just a personal joy—it’s an increasingly radical act of defiance. Fascism thrives on conformity, fear, and a homogenization, where dissent is silenced and imagination controlled. But authenticity—raw, human, and unapologetic—disrupts that system. When you create from your deepest self, you reject all that seeks to dull minds and erase individuality. Your art, your voice, your playful rebellion are threats to those who demand obedience. So create fiercely, not just for yourself, but to remind others how it's done. Your creativity is your superpower—use it.
The world needs your wildly human self.
